Description

This is a house, part of a terraced row, likely dating from around 1840. It was later enlarged and altered. The front is painted stucco with a slate roof. The house has a double-depth plan, including a large rear wing.

The exterior is three storeys high, originally two, and features three windows. Details include a plinth, giant Doric pilasters extending to the second storey, a string course, sill bands to the first and second floors, and a moulded gutter cornice. The ground floor has tall sash windows without glazing bars, flanking what may have once been a window but now contains a half-glazed door. The first floor also has sash windows without glazing bars. An added top floor has two oblong, four-light casements.

The return frontage to Wellington Street has a segmental-headed doorway with foliated consoles and a moulded head, with sash windows without glazing bars above on each floor and near the front corner. The rear wing has tripartite windows at ground and first floor levels to the right of the doorway, sash windows at second floor level above, and further windows to the rear.

The interior of the house has not been inspected. The building is part of a group with other properties in Bath Street, Beach Lawn, Marine Crescent and Marine Terrace, and contributes to the Waterloo Conservation Area of Crosby.
