MELLING PRESCOT ROAD (east side) Outbuilding and pigsties to west of Melling House (q.v.)

GV II Outbuilding and pigsties, possibly originally servants' quarters. Datestone over blocked entrance inscribed: "TBE/1652". Narrow-coursed stone with large quoins, stone slate roof. Coped east gable. 2-light double-chamfered- mullioned windows placed high up on north, east and south sides. East side has blocked window partly covered by low extension. North side has blocked entrance with dated lintel and cart entrance, possibly later. South side has later pigsties with slab walls to pens. Roof extended to west over open-fronted space with doors to rear.
