Description

This house, dating from the 1860s, is constructed of stucco with a slate roof. It is four storeys high and three bays wide. The ground floor has channelled rustication and a band above. A sill course and top console cornice run across the first floor. On the ground floor, the second bay contains two windows, with a mezzanine window above. The first floor window in the first bay has a segmental head with an architrave, frieze, and consoled pediment. The second bay features seven recessed panels with top corbel tables and a band above, incorporating one inserted window. The end two bays have windows set within architraves. The second floor’s first bay has a round-headed window in an architrave, topped with an open pediment. The second bay has a window with seven round-headed lights. The end two bays echo the first floor’s windows and also feature pediments. The front entrance is emphasized by a porch with a distyle-in-antis Doric colonnade and a balustraded balcony above the window. A niche is located behind the porch, with the entrance positioned in the side return. The rear elevation is similar to the front, and includes a two-storey central bow.
