Description

Princes Lodge, dating to circa 1870, is a lodge built to serve Sefton Park. It was designed by André and Hornblower. The lodge is constructed of brick with stone dressings and has a slate roof. The building follows a T-shaped plan and extends over two storeys. A porch situated in an angled corner features a hipped roof. A canted bay window with mullions and transoms is located to the left of the porch. The first floor is jettied, displaying timbering and two figures set within niches on the window jambs. A matching corner projection extends to the left of the bay window. Two brick stacks are present. A gable fronting Ullet Road incorporates a canted bay window and a first-floor jetty. The entrance is defined by a segmental pointed head.
