Description

The Monument to Samuel Smith, a Grade II listed structure, was completed in 1909 and designed by sculptor C. J. Allen. This tall granite obelisk features sculptured panels with figures in relief on a square plinth, along with a bronze inscription. It includes drinking fountains on two sides, set on a rusticated base, and is elevated on four stone steps. Samuel Smith was a Member of Parliament who passed away in 1906.
