Description

A pair of houses dating from the 1840s, located on the south side of North Road in Grassendale Park, Norwood. The houses, numbered 33 and 35 (Gage House), are two storeys high with four bays. A blind window is centrally located on the first floor. The end bays project forward and are topped with pedimented gables. The building has deep, bracketed eaves. The windows are framed by architraves; those on the first floor have projecting sills. Ground floor and bay windows are tripartite, incorporating panelled pilasters, a frieze featuring wreaths, and a modillioned cornice. The central bays are distinguished by a tetrastyle colonnade of antae. A blind window is centrally positioned on the first floor. Many of the windows are casements, while the central first-floor windows have sashed glazing bars. The entrances are framed by architraves, friezes and consoled pediments. Round-headed blind windows are situated in the return wings.
