Description

These shops, located at 97 and 99 Mount Pleasant, were built in the late 18th century. They are constructed of brick with stone detailing and have a slate roof. The building comprises three storeys and two bays for each shop. The shop fronts are 20th-century replacements, with the front of number 97 featuring stained glass panels and an entablature. Most windows have wedge lintels and are casement windows. The return frontage, number 35 Clarence Street, is three storeys and two bays wide and features a round-headed entrance with a plain doorcase and a six-panelled door. First-floor sash windows have glazing bars.
