Description

A terrace of shops with living accommodation above, dating to circa 1820. The building is constructed of stock brick with wooden shop fronts, and stands three storeys high. It comprises a two-window wide front for each unit. The original house doors, located to the left of each shop, have rectangular fanlights. The shop fronts, particularly those of numbers 87 to 95, have largely been renewed and include thin mullioned display windows, panelled stall risers, and panelled, glazed doors. Number 97 has a shallow bowed display window with an architrave surround, cornice, and inswept frieze, alongside a square-headed doorway with blocked fanlights and reeded jambs. The upper floors feature recessed sash windows with glazing bars, set beneath flat, gauged, red brick arches. The building is topped with a parapet and coping.
