Description

No 207 on Old Marylebone Road is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of yellow stock brick, with the ground floor covered in stucco and a Welsh slate roof. The building has three storeys, a basement, and dormer windows, featuring a layout of four by three bays. The leftmost bays form No 207, while the right bay is part of No 1 Homer Row.

The entrance is positioned to the right of the centre and consists of a six-panel door beneath a fanlight with radial glazing, set within a round-arched double recess. This recess is adorned with palmette motifs at the imposts and a Coade stone head at the key of the outer arch. The windows are round-arched sashes with glazing bars. A band of rosettes in stucco runs along the first floor, above which are recessed sashes under gauged brick flat arches. The sashes for No 207 have glazing bars, while No 1 features a mix of part glazing bars and plate glass. The tall first-floor windows are complemented by plain bowed railings, and the parapet on the left side has been rebuilt.

The front facing Homer Row has a central later 19th-century four-panel door with an overlight, with a sash window featuring glazing bars to the left and a blocked window to the right. There are additional sashes, some with glazing bars and one casement in the outer bays above, along with central blind windows. All windows have gauged brick flat arches. The building has a mansard roof, and the area railings to the left of the Homer Row front are topped with fleur-de-lys and spiked urn finials.
