Description
This is a two-storey stable block, now used as business premises, located on Cato Street in Westminster. The street was laid out in 1803, and the stable itself was constructed shortly thereafter. The building is of brown brick with a concealed roof. It has two bays, with a central entrance and garage doors to the left and a casement window to the right. The upper floor has replacement sash windows with glazing bars, set within segmental brick arches. The stable loft gained historical significance as the location of the Cato Street Conspiracy on 23 February 1820, and it is listed primarily for this association.
