Description
Number 68 is a house built in the late 18th century, constructed from brick with stone dressings and topped with a slate roof. It stands three storeys tall with a basement and features five bays. The three-bay centre of the building projects forward beneath an open pediment that includes a round-arched recess. All the windows are fitted with wedge lintels and are sashed with glazing bars. The central window on the first floor is adorned with architraves and a consoled segmental pediment. There is a sill band on the first floor and a cornice at the top. The entrance features a central panelled door accessed by four steps, topped with a reeded cornice and a round fanlight. This is flanked by Tuscan columns with reeded capitals, and the frieze displays relief ornamentation of musical instruments, along with a dentilled cornice and pediment. The front area is enclosed by iron railings.
