Description

This pair of houses, 64A and 66 Mount Pleasant, were built in the late 18th century. They are constructed of brick with stone details and have slate roofs. Number 64A is three storeys high with one window to each floor. The ground floor has a small shop window. The second storey has been rebuilt. It has a top cornice and parapet. Number 66 is four storeys high and has a basement, with four bays visible. Its windows have wedge lintels and are sash windows, originally without glazing bars, though casements have been added to the first and second floors. A panelled front door is topped by a fanlight, set within an Ionic porch featuring fluted columns, a freize, and a dentilled cornice. This house also has a top cornice. Cast iron railings are present to the front area of Number 66. The buildings are recognised for their group value.
