Description

This is a terrace of three houses located on Knight Street, built in the early 19th century. The buildings are constructed of brick with stone dressings and have a slate roof. Each house has two bays and three storeys, plus a basement. The basement has been altered, with larger windows inserted, and the basement of number 39 has been stuccoed. A sill band is visible on the first floor, and a top cornice runs along the top. All windows are sash windows with glazing bars, except for the ground floor window of number 43, which is different, and a blind window on the second floor. The entrances to the second bays are round-headed, with consoled doorcases. Numbers 39 and 43 have six-panel doors, although the door to number 43 is likely a 20th-century replacement. Number 41 retains its original fanlight. A stucco advertising plaque is visible on the right return of the terrace.
