Description
This is an early 19th-century house on Hope Street. It is constructed of red brick with a slate roof. The house has three storeys and a basement, with a symmetrical three-bay facade. The basement is stuccoed, and there is a sill band to the first floor, a top cornice, and gable chimneys. A plaster doorcase, round-arched with imposts and a keystone, frames a panelled door and a fanlight featuring radial glazing bars. A flight of eight steps leads to the front door, with the exception of the lowest step, all are nosings. All windows have stuccoed wedge lintels and sash windows with glazing bars.
