Description
33 and 35 Hope Street and 2 Blackburne Place is a terrace of three houses built in the early 19th century. The buildings are constructed of brick with stone dressings and feature a slate roof. Each house has three storeys and a basement, with three bays. The stone basement is complemented by a first floor sill band, a top frieze, a cornice, and a blocking course. The windows have wedge lintels and are sash style, with glazing bars on the first and second floors. The entrances are round-headed and feature Doric doorcases along with stucco archivolts adorned with honeysuckle ornament. There are plain iron area railings. No. 33 has a blind window and rectangular iron balconies on the first floor. No. 2 Blackburne Place has rectangular iron balconies on the first floor as well, along with a four-bay return that includes two bays of blind windows and an entrance. The doors are six-panel style.
