Description
Number 20 is a detached watch-making workshop located at the rear of Prescot Grosvenor Road, dating from the late 19th century. The building is constructed of brick and features a slate roof. It stands two storeys tall and occupies a corner site with a canted angle. The upper floor has two six-light windows on each long side, with original casements and lintels positioned at eaves level. There is an additional first-floor window at the angle, while all ground floor windows have segmental heads; one of these retains its boarded external shutters. The end wall includes a first-floor taking-in door. Internal fittings are believed to be well-preserved. This workshop is recognized as one of the best-preserved examples in Prescot, a town that played a significant role in the national watch-making industry.
