Description

A house and shop, likely dating to the late 18th century, has been altered over time. The building is constructed of pebbledashed rubble, with a slate roof and brick chimneys. It is two storeys high. The left-hand section, No. 45, has two bays. The ground floor features a modern shop window on the left. Sash windows are present on the first floor. A door is located in the right-hand bay. Attached to the front of the building is a mounting block made of two pieces of sandstone, forming three steps and inscribed with the letters 'RRA 1685’. No. 44 features horizontal sash windows with glazing bars and plain reveals; one window is positioned on either side of the door on the ground floor, and another is located above the door on the first floor. The door itself has plain reveals. The building has end chimneys.
