Description

This barn, located approximately 75 metres south of New Hall Farmhouse, dates back to 1672, as indicated on its north side. It is constructed of handmade brick and features a roof made of corrugated sheet, which includes some translucent panels. The barn consists of five bays with outshuts on the north side.

There are opposing wagon doorways at the centre, with the northern doorway set back between the outshuts. This doorway has low outer doorways and a glazed screen above. To the left of the head of the doorway, there is a datestone with raised lettering that reads "I S; 1672." Each outshut has a centrally placed door with a sandstone lintel, flanked by small altered windows. The left outshut also features a small 6-pane loft window located under the eaves.

The south side and gables of the barn contain numerous slit breathers, while lean-to additions on the south side and both ends are not included in this listing. Inside, the barn retains its original roof trusses, which are supported by straight windbracing.
