Description
The stable block to the rear of Lathom House Almshouses is a structure that likely dates from the early 18th century and has been altered over time. It is constructed with a combination of render on rubble and brick, topped with a mono-pitched stone slate roof. The building has a rectangular plan aligned on a north-south axis, forming the western side of a courtyard behind the Almshouses.
The stable block features a single-storey arcade consisting of 11 round-headed arches, which are accented with an impost band and keystones. The doors have been altered, and the building is finished with a plain coped parapet and a mono-pitched roof at the rear. This stable block is part of a group with the Lathom House Almshouses.
