Description

Ashurst's Hall is a house, likely built in the early 19th century on the site of a mid-17th century house. It is constructed of sandstone rubble with an artificial stone roof. The main part of the house is of a double-depth plan, with three bays, featuring quoins on the left and right sides. The windows have plain reveals. A blocked doorway is located to the right of the left-hand window. A cross-wing adjoins the main building on the right side, with three windows on the first floor and one wide window below, all with plain reveals. A doorway is present on the left side of the cross-wing, which lacks quoins where it abuts the main facade, suggesting a later build, although the wall appears to have been reconstructed. Chimneys with brick caps are situated in line with the middle bay and along the ridge of the cross-wing. The interior, when surveyed in March 1987, was inaccessible and reported to have no features of architectural interest.
