Description
Barton’s Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now a house, dated 1665 on the porch in 20th-century lettering, and has been altered over time. It features white-painted render on brick and a slate roof. The building has a two-unit baffle-entry plan, with a late 19th or 20th-century wing added to the right-hand end. It is two storeys high with two windows, a plinth, a single-storey gabled porch, and two three-light casement windows on each floor. A ridge chimney is aligned with the porch, and there is a gabled wing to the right. The rear of the building has been altered. Inside, the second bay contains an inglenook with a bressummer and one lateral beam, while the first bay is axially partitioned with a chamfered beam in the front room; otherwise, the interior has been altered.
