Description
This building is a stable and/or granary, now serving as a garage, located approximately 15 metres southeast of Number 192 on Ormskirk Road in Up Holland. It was likely built in the early to mid-19th century and has been altered over time. The structure is made of coursed squared sandstone with random rubble on the sides and rear, topped with a stone slate roof. It has a small rectangular plan aligned on a north-south axis, facing west. The building features two low storeys, with a central garage doorway and a smaller doorway to the right, both having punch-dressed lintels and board doors. The north gable wall includes external steps leading to a loft doorway with a wooden surround, along with a square four-pane window to the right of the loft doorway. This stable or granary is part of an interesting group of buildings at Garnett Lees.
