Description

A mid-18th century stable with a granary above, located east of Boothferry Road, Howden. The building is constructed of brick in an English garden wall bond and has a pantile roof. It is single-storey with an attic, comprising five bays. Stable doors are set into the first and fourth bays, with fixed windows in the other bays, all contained within elliptical arches. An eaves band runs along the top of the walls, and the gable ends are finished with coping stones and shaped kneelers. Stone steps lead to the granary at the right gable end. Gable end ties incorporate the initials 'IB'. The building is listed for its contribution to the group value of the surrounding farm buildings.
