Description
No. 23 Rochdale Road is a cottage dating from around 1800, which was derelict as of 1984. It is constructed from watershot coursed sandstone and features a stone slate roof with a chimney located at the right gable. The building has a double depth plan and consists of one bay. The front elevation has two storeys, while the rear, which is at a lower level and identified by a nameplate on the wall of No. 19 as "Industrial Place," has three storeys. The front includes a plain doorway to the right, coupled windows at the ground floor, and two windows above, all of which are now boarded. The rear has a doorway and a stepped triple-light window at the lower level, both of which are blocked, along with three square windows at the ground floor (also blocked) and two stepped triple-light windows at the top floor.
