Description
Heckiln Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 17th century, constructed of sandstone rubble with a stone slate roof. It features a three-cell plan and stands two storeys tall with four bays. The windows are mullioned, showcasing an inner hollow chamfer, outer chamfer, and hoods. The left-hand bay contains a three-light window on the ground floor, which lacks a hood, while the second bay has a five-light window on the ground floor and a four-light window on the first floor, also without a hood. The third bay features a two-light window on the ground floor and a one-light chamfered window on the first floor. The right-hand bay has a five-light window on each floor. Adjacent to the left-hand bay is a narrow chamfered doorway. There are chimneys located on the gables and to the right of the third bay. The right-hand (east) gable includes a chamfered one-light window and a door with a chamfered stone surround from the 19th century. To the right of this door is a two-light window on each floor, with the ground-floor window restored, which lights an original outshut against part of the north wall. At the rear, just west of the outshut, there is a chamfered doorway with a Tudor-arched head. The interior was not accessible at the time of the survey.
