Description
Red Syke Gate is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of rendered rubble and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys. On the ground floor, there are two wide gabled porches, with the right-hand porch having a chimney on its front wall. The windows have plain stone surrounds, with one light window located between the porches, a similar window of sawn stone on the left, and a three-light window with square mullions on the right. The first floor has similar windows with three, four, and three lights. Each porch has a door with a plain stone surround, and the right-hand porch displays a worn date, possibly from 1780, on the lintel. There are chimneys at both ends of the facade and on each side of the central first-floor window. The adjoining barn to the left has been altered and is not included in this listing.
