Description
Briar Cottage is a pair of houses dating from the late 18th century. They are built from squared watershot sandstone and feature a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys, with No. 43 on the left consisting of one bay and No. 44 on the right comprising two bays. The windows are tripartite with plain stone surrounds and square mullions, except for the right-hand first-floor window of No. 44, which has a plain stone surround. All windows are sashed with glazing bars, except for the left-hand ground-floor window of No. 43, which is modern and has glazing bars. The doors, which have plain stone surrounds, are located to the right of the left-hand bay and at the far right. There are shaped stone gutter brackets, and chimney stacks are positioned on the gables and to the right of the left-hand door.
