Description

This is a pair of late 18th-century houses located on Vale Lane Top, Keighley. They are constructed of coursed, watershot millstone grit with a stone slate roof. The houses are two storeys and two bays each, with quoins to the right-hand side of No. 6. All openings have flush stone surrounds, with the windows featuring flat-faced mullions. No. 6, on the right, has a central 20th-century top-glazed door, with a four-light window to its right and a six-light window to its left on both floors. No. 8, on the left, has a 20th-century glazed door to its left, with a four-light window to its right; one light of this window is blocked. The first floor of No. 8 features a two-light window to the left and a three-light window to the right, with one light blocked. The houses have shaped kneelers and ashlar coping. Each dwelling has a stack at its right-hand end. A later addition exists at the rear of No. 8.
