Description
Lower Hall Cottages is a house built in 1824, constructed of rubble, primarily limestone, with sandstone dressings and a stone slate roof. It has two storeys. The windows feature plain stone surrounds. The main part of the facade includes a two-light window to the left of the door, which is sashed with glazing bars and has a central square mullion. To the right of the door, there is a one-light window on the ground floor, with a similar window above that has 'WA' inscribed on the lintel and '1824' on the sill. The door itself has a chamfered stone surround.
On the right side of the facade, there is a three-light window with square mullions on the ground floor and a similar two-light window on the first floor. To the left, there is a chamfered entrance with a segmental arch, and a door with a plain stone surround set back within the lobby formed by this entrance. A stone gutter is supported on rectangular corbels, and there are end chimneys. The right-hand (north) gable features a first-floor door that is accessed from a higher ground level, also with a chamfered stone surround.
