Description
Nos 3 and 5 on Church Street are a pair of buildings dated 1836, as indicated by the rainwater head and an inscription on one of the quoins to the left. They feature a moulded eaves cornice and band, and stand three storeys tall, rendered to resemble stone. The buildings have two and four windows, most of which are hung sashes with glazing bars. The ground floor on the left has channelled rustication with one modern window and three steps leading to a 19th-century door with five panels and a rectangular fanlight. On the right, the ground floor is also rusticated and includes a segmental-headed carriage entry along with a modern shop front that has two bowed lights with glazing bars and a central door. To the left, there is a passage entry with a round head. Nos 1 to 23 (odd) form a group with the Parish Church of St Mary Magdalene, while Nos 7 to 13 are of local interest only.
