Description
Mytton House and No. 13 are two attached terrace houses from the 19th century, located on Church Street. They feature pebble dashed render, a pitched Welsh slate roof, and stone window and door frames, showcasing whimsical Gothic style decorative stone detailing. Mytton House has a symmetrical, two-storey facade with three bays, highlighted by a central, fielded, eight-panel door with a pointed glazed overlight. This door is set in roll-moulded jambs and has a shouldered, square-topped lintel within a Gothic pointed porch. The porch is supported by high-based, capitalised jamb piers and features a flat-centred, roll-moulded apex arch that is framed by outer roll moulding, which extends down to a stone step at the base. No. 13 has two storeys and two bays, with a double entrance; the right-hand door has been removed and replaced with glazing. The ground floor window frames of both houses are identical, square stone with roll-moulded frames in flat surrounds, featuring chamfered sills and corniced, segmental pediments. The upper storeys of both houses have roll-moulded square frames with chamfered sills and flat-faced, shouldered lintels. All glazing consists of four-pane vertical sashes. The interior has not been inspected.
