Description

The war memorial, built after 1918, is a First World War memorial located on Chapel Street in Slaidburn. It is constructed from sandstone ashlar and bronze. The memorial features an octagonal pillar with a moulded base and cap, which stands on an octagonal platform. At the top of the pillar is a cast statue of a soldier holding a rifle. Plaques on the memorial commemorate the dead from Slaidburn, Dunsop, and Newton.
