Description

This garden urn, dating from around 1865, is located on a pedestal approximately 25 meters southwest of the terrace steps on the upper terrace of Miller Park in Preston. The pedestal is made of sandstone ashlar, measuring about 0.5 meters square and 1.5 meters high, featuring a moulded base and cap, along with panelled sides. The large chalice-shaped urn, now painted white, is decorated with relief designs that include acanthus leaves, running vines, small figures, and ammonite handles. This urn is part of a set of six that line the upper terrace.
