Description

This is a stone urn and pedestal located in an orchard approximately 10 metres west of the west Kitchen Garden wall at Newby Park. The urn dates from the early to mid-19th century, while the pedestal is possibly from the 18th century. The pedestal features a moulded plinth and cornice, along with fielded panels. The urn has concave sides adorned with a leaf motif in relief, a lid decorated with stylised acanthus leaves, and a fluted finial.
