Description

No. 7 East Cliff is a detached town house, now used as offices, built around 1840 and altered since. The building is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with sandstone dressings and a slate roof. It is mostly double-depth, although the east end is single-depth on the south side. The house has three storeys over a high basement, featuring a main range with three windows and a set-back one-window wing. The basement has square two-light windows, while the ground and first floors have tall 12-pane sash windows. The second floor features square six-pane sash windows, and there are gable chimneys. The upper floors of the set-back portion also have 12-pane sashes. The entrance is located on the west side, with a large round-headed doorway accessed by steps. The south front has four windows, predominantly 12-pane sashes, along with an added canted bay window at the ground floor. The interior has not been inspected.
