Description

This garden urn is located on a pedestal approximately 50 meters southwest of the terrace steps on the upper terrace of Miller Park in Preston. It dates from around 1865 and features a sandstone ashlar pedestal that is approximately 0.5 meters square and 1.5 meters high. The pedestal has a moulded base and cap, with panelled sides. The large chalice-shaped urn, which is now painted white, has relief decorations that include acanthus leaves, running vines, small figures, and ammonite handles. This urn is one of a set of six that line the upper terrace.
