Description
The war memorial, located on the south side of the road outside number 270, is a cross on a pedestal that may date back to the late medieval period. It is made of sandstone and stands approximately 3 metres high. The cross is crafted from punched stone and is mounted on a slightly tapered cubic pedestal. The face of the pedestal features an inset metal plate with raised capital letters that read: "This cross was restored by the inhabitants of Grimsargh and District in Memory of local sailors and soldiers who fell in the Great War 1914 - 1919," followed by a list of 15 names. The nearby farm is known as Three Mile Cross Farm.
