Description
The stone war memorial in Weston Longville is situated outside Church Farm House, which is also a Grade II-listed building, about 40 meters west of the Church of All Saints, a Grade I-listed structure. The memorial stands approximately 3.3 meters tall and features a cross atop a slender, tapering octagonal shaft that has a moulded collar and foot, all resting on a small square pedestal. This pedestal is set on a three-stepped base. The cross-head, which rises from the simply moulded collar, is designed as an equal-armed cross pommé with cusps at the intersections of the arms.
The pedestal displays inscriptions, with the main dedicatory inscription on the front face reading: "TO HONOUR THE MEMORY OF THE MEN OF WESTON WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1918 LEST WE FORGET." The names of the commemorated individuals, including their dates of death and details of their regiment, corps, or service, are inscribed on the other faces of the pedestal.
