Description

This is a street lamp standard located on the west side of Avenham Walk, approximately 75 meters south of Avenham Lane in Preston. It is likely from the mid-19th century and has been altered. The lamp is made of cast iron and features a square pedestal with shouldered panels, a fluted shaft adorned with acanthus leaf decoration at the base, two intermediate rings, and a gadrooned cap. A replacement lantern was being fitted at the time of the survey.
