Description

This is a street lamp standard located at the south end of the west side of Avenham Walk in Preston. It is likely from the mid-19th century and has been altered. The lamp is made of cast iron and features a square pedestal with shouldered panels. The shaft is fluted and decorated with acanthus leaves at the base, along with two intermediate rings and a gadrooned cap. At the time of the survey, a replacement lantern was being fitted.
