Description
This street lamp is located on the south corner of the junction with Porter Place in Preston. It is likely from the mid-19th century and has been altered. The lamp is made of cast iron and features a square pedestal with shouldered panels. The shaft is fluted and decorated with acanthus leaves at the base, and it has two intermediate rings. The top has a gadrooned cap, which is now topped with a large C-shaped bracket that holds a suspended electric light fitting.
