Description
The Dovecote, formerly known as The Kennel, is likely a former kennels that was later converted into a dovecote, built in 1795 as indicated on the lintel. The structure is made of rubble and is designed as a symmetrical three-bay composition, appearing to be two storeys high. The lower stage features two round breathers, while the upper stage has three, with three openings in between. These include a straight-headed door that currently provides access to the nesting boxes and two round-headed entries, each accessed by individual flights of steps. The end elevation has an arch on the ground floor, which is mostly bricked up, and another round breather above it. The rear of the building has five similar breathers arranged in a semicircle.
