Lodge to Gledstone Hall, 1923 by Sir Edwin Lutyens. Snecked rubble with hipped stone slate roof. Symmetrical 3-bay composition with storey band. Widely-spaced casements to the first floor, but two small lights close to the door on the ground floor, square but with ornamental fixed circular glazing. 2-panel raised and fielded door under a stone pediment on consoles, the tympanum carved "ANM" (for Sir Amos Nelson). This lodge gives access to the site of old Gledstone Hall, demolished at the time the present Gledstone Hall (qv) was built on the other side of the road.
