Description
The farm store, originally part of a house, dates from the late 17th century and is located north of Park House Farmhouse. It is constructed from sandstone rubble and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys. The east wall showcases rebated and chamfered mullioned windows, with two-light and three-light configurations on the ground floor, and two-light windows above. The west wall contains a two-light window on each floor, along with a ground-floor window that has plain reveals and a one-light chamfered window above. The southern gable wall is watershot, while the northern gable wall features a large projecting stack with offsets. On the left side of the northern gable, there is a one-light chamfered window with a segmental head on each floor; the ground-floor window is blocked, while the first-floor window has a hood. To the right, there is a door with plain reveals.
Inside, the three axial main ceiling joists are ovolo-moulded, with the western joist having mortises for a partition wall in the soffit. The other two main joists appear to be re-used crucks, and the common joists have an edge-roll moulding. The wide fireplace opening features a moulded surround with a segmental arch. The roof truss seems to be a later replacement made of pine. The size of the building, along with the watershot south wall and the absence of an original doorway, suggests that it is a remnant of a larger house.
