Description
The Custom House is a former custom house, now used for storage, dating from the late 18th century. It is built from squared sandstone rubble and topped with a slate roof. The building has two storeys, featuring sash windows with glazing bars and plain stone surrounds. On the north wall, there are two windows on the first floor at the outer sides, with a door beneath the right-hand window, also framed in plain stone. A chimney is located in the centre of this wall. The east gable wall, which faces the slipway and dock, has a wide doorway on the ground floor with plain reveals and a stone lintel, above which is a window. The south wall has a window at each floor level, positioned at the western end.
