Description

The Old Custom House is a house, believed to have been a former customs house, dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed from pebbledashed rubble with sandstone dressings and features a slate roof. The building has two storeys with an attic. The windows are modern and include glazing bars. The east wall displays chamfered quoins and has a window on both floors, with the ground-floor window being smaller and having plain reveals. There is a chimney on the north gable. The south gable wall also has chamfered quoins and openings with plain stone surrounds. The ground floor is covered by a later verandah, with a window on the left side and two windows on the first floor, plus one in the attic. The door is located on the right side.
