Description

A pair of houses, likely dating from the early 19th century, are situated at First Terrace. The houses are constructed of rendered rubble with a modern tiled roof. They are three storeys high. Number 9, on the left, features a two-storey canted bay window with plain stone surrounds and modern windows with glazing bars. Above this, on the second floor, are two six-pane sash windows set within rendered splayed reveals. The left-hand door has a rendered surround. Number 8 has a modern bay window on the ground floor. The first floor contains a modern window with glazing bars and a rendered surround, while the second floor has two sashed windows with glazing bars and rendered reveals. A chimney with a rendered brick cap is located between the two houses. The Group Value is based on the terrace's cohesive architectural style.
