Description
Christ Church is a church built in 1840, with a later 19th-century chancel. It is constructed from sandstone rubble and features a slate roof. The building consists of a nave with a lower chancel. The north wall has four bays separated by buttresses, with the right-hand bay containing a single lancet window, while the other bays have triple stepped lancets. The south wall of the nave is similar in design. The chancel's north wall has two bays with windows that have two lights and plate tracery. The east end is three-sided and includes a central triple stepped lancet. The west end features angle buttresses, a bellcote, three lancets, and a doorway with a pointed head. Inside, there is a west gallery, a nave roof supported by bolted scissor-braced trusses, and a chancel roof with raised tie beams, king posts, and arch-braced collars.
