SD 46 NE SLYNE-WITH-HEST STRELLAS LANE

6/226 Sundial Base in garden of Beaumont Cote, about 40 metres west of G.V. House II

Stone pillar, late C17th, formerly a sundial. Sandstone, in 2 sections now joined and which could have had separate functions, the upper portion resembling a late C17th stone mortar. Of square section, the lower half having 'TC 1680' inscribed on roundel. Upper section chamfered, broached to a square section with 'TC' in raised letters in a square panel. Top has octagonal panel for sundial plate.
