Description
This building, a house and shop, was constructed in 1746 and has been altered over time. It is made of sandstone rubble and features a slate roof. The structure is two storeys high. The post office section has two bays with flush chamfered mullioned windows. The left bay contains two lights, with the left light on the ground floor having a post box inserted, while the other light retains glazing bars. On the first floor, the mullion has been removed and the sill lowered. The right bay features a three-light window on the first floor, with the outer lights having glazing bars. On the ground floor, there is a 19th-century bow window with glazing bars. The door, located between the bays, has a plain stone surround.
To the left, the house has two bays with sashed windows that have glazing bars and plain stone surrounds. The door on the right has plain reveals. There are two wide entrances to the left; the left entrance has a timber lintel, while the right entrance features a segmental arch. There are chimneys located to the right of the latter entrance, positioned between the house and shop, as well as on the right-hand gable.
